Hi, I’m Kristi Moomey, a resin artist creating one-of-a-kind artwork inspired by the beauty and movement of coastal waters.

For more than 25 years, I’ve worked in murals, watercolor, mixed media, abstracts, and coastal fine art. Resin has become one of my favorite mediums for capturing light, depth, movement, and color.

Each piece is created to do more than fill a wall. My goal is to evoke emotion, capture a meaningful moment, and bring the feeling of a special place into your space.

Inspired by the ocean, rugged coastline, stones, forests, and changing skies of coastal nature, I create original resin art, abstract ocean art, and nature-inspired mixed media pieces, each with its own character. That’s the work I bring to clients across the nation as a custom resin artist in California: nothing mass-produced, nothing pulled from a template.

My abstract pieces work differently. Some echo the rings of a tree, one color giving way to the next like a record of hard seasons and easy ones. Others move like liquid stone, gold bleeding into turquoise across a dark ground, closer to a slow flood of color than a fixed image.

The geode-inspired work is the most technical of the three. I build up bands of color and texture the way a real geode forms underground, ring after ring, with pockets of white or crystalline texture breaking through. Cut into an organic, stone-like shape, a finished piece looks like something split open in the desert, not painted on a wall.

Three different processes, one goal: I’m never just recreating what something looks like. I want to capture what it feels like to stand in front of it.
